Romance in Africa....Is still Alive.... Come and read my blog, if you go back to the beginning you can start off by reading about the Story of Mrs. Eugenia Nwafor, this story is in three parts from August thru September 2011, first episode is "An evening with Mrs. Eugenia Nwafor", and what an evening it was..it has a short middle portion where the family travels to Lagos, and the final episode, which starts off with as night fell they could hear the firing of gun shots...' There are a few interspersed short stories, but the other long story is " The story of Mr. Tokunbo Ajayi", and this is in multiple episodes and still ongoing; come follow Tokunbo, a young altruistic nigerian disillusioned with the nigerian establishment (which has over seen the brokering of the poverty of the populace and has pillaged the public coffers in such a way that in time this country may go down in history as being the most corrupt country that ever existed!) But dont get me wrong politics are important, always, but even Tokunbo is a romantic at heart and he has time enough on his hands to fall in love, in spite of the shenanigans of the nigerian power brokers, and in spite of the total lack of progress; (yes, even in the midst of all this sorrow we the common man try to ilk out a living, we try to see order in the chaos that only too often surrounds us, but even if we cannot see this order now, we hope for it; that ,the nigerian state cannot take away from us: dreams and hopes of a just and egalitarian society where man can pursue peace and yes, happiness, and not a society where these things are only available for the privileged few. nor a society where a segment of society is trying to forcibly intimidate others into adapting their religious faiths, of all the primitive things .....)
